Slightly over sulfured, but not intrusively so, and mostly blowing off. Decently secondary, watery texture, 2nd tier Gigondas. Pleasant.

that place sure went to hell in a handbasket over the years. The wines from 81 through 89 were really something, then...poof!

I liked Trignon through the 90s. But I didn't know their wines prior to 89 or 90, so maybe I just didn't know it in its high palmy days. I expect the 95 is at the end of its lifespan, though. I date their decline as after the 01, which I also liked. I don't know what happened.

Bruno Gaspard, the Trignon winemaker's, leave the estate around 2000 to run the Clos du Cailloux ?

Wasn't Trignon sold by Kermit Lynch? If it's the wine I remember it was damn good and like Steve said it fell off a cliff.
