They're everywhere, whoa!

St. Gayan Rasteau

A burly little sucker, in a Rasteauian kind of way. Bold, assertive, a bit single note, but fun. The Chassagne Montrachet rouge of the southern Rhone. And St. Gayan is a nice old school producer. Nice acids, etc., etc.. Seemed like it had the stature to stand up to air but I found myself in a race against oxygen - the glasses honeyed and went belly up pretty quick so the bottle drained fast. A good partner to vegan pizza and the last episode of season one of Battlestar Galactica.

Pavelot SlB aux Guettes

Not a perfect bottle, dryish cork broke in half. Still, almost entirely as expected: dense strawberries, great balance, not giving much nose wise but a delightful, dense pinot acid mouthful that went great with slow roasted chicken and fresh grilled asparagus.
