03 Roilette

Strong spearmint, overripe secondary Gamay, stewed prunes, and sap all fought for primacy. Several times I thought it was time to open another bottle, but somehow this held my interest until the end. It did come together somewhat with air but became more anonymous and less interesting. What I appreciated about it was that so many 03s are just terrible, but this was true to its origins and still presented itself as vrai vin. You could see glimmers of typical Roilette in there. Coudert did a heroic effort and didn't just throw up his arms - it shows in this bottle.

That said, I wouldn't seek this out again, other than to share the curiousity with others.
