1993 Pol Roger Cuvee Sir Winston Churchill Brut Champagne, Epernay, alc 12%... tiny bubbles not overly yeasty but rich and full with some early nutty notes.. crisp with some green apple noteslong sweet finishslightly oxidative style of wine making (a positive comment) drinking quite well but not yet into much secondary development.

With dinner of a pork loin with fresh figs and a orange marmalade/Grand Marnier marinade with roasted mashed acorn squash and sauteed red chard with aged balsamic vinegar

2001 Costers de Vinyes Velles Mas Doix , Priorat, alc 15%, this is a blend of 55% Grenache (from 90+ year old vines) and 45% Carignan (from 100+ year old vines). ..decanted for 3 hrs in the Rojaus, a little wood showing on the nose much more rich and blueberry driven with some cocoa notes and moderate tannins.. little oak on the palate a bit more advanced than expected but still has several years ahead of it.. very much a food wine

With Spiced Cranberry Bread Pudding (a light crisp version of what usually is a heavy dessert)

1989 Vouvray Huet, Cuvee Constance, S.A. Huet, alc 11.5%, From a 750 ml bottleGolden in the glass..honey/honeysuckle nose with a hint of gingertruly glycerol on the palate with a young rich mouthcoating wonderful textureseems to be only a year or two old at most (not 19yrs!!)the finish is at least 2 minutes or longer.. descriptors are difficult with a wine that gives this degree of pleasure!!!
BTW, this is the first vintage of the Cuvee Constance cuvee ? the best ever made??
