Vital, living wine. Powerful, quince infused wildflower honey coiled acids, spreading into a pear apple tart. Long finish. I can tell with air this is going to come on strong. Complex, harmonious, top tier stuff. Though certainly into secondaries, this feels quite young - and that it will age for a long, long time.

Pretty sure I have a bunch of this that hasn't been touched since release. Thanks for the note. Instills confidence (not that that wasn't there already). Cheers

I touched two or three bottles a couple of years ago before seeing the error of my ways. Generally ten or twelve years is just about right for his sec, but the 1996 bears waiting on still.

yes, sure.

I bought a lot more Huet than Foreau in '02, but it doesn't mean the Foreau isn't worthy.

but it will never quite match the 1996 for sheer intensity.

I buy Huet demi-sec and Foreau sec. Those are the strength of the two, IMO. But it's not like either really have weaknesses.

Not to be the skunk at the garden party, but I've never found the Foreau '02 sec or demisec terribly compelling, although my sampling has been limited to a couple times with each. I much prefer the '96s. The sweeter wines are another story.
