While browsing the shelves of a good local wine retailer, I happened upon several of Chermette's 2010s. Ever mindful of the fact that we're leaving this fair land in a month, I was not too keen on buying vin de gardes such as the '10 Trois Roches or Poncié for near term consumption. Instead, I opted for a (less expensive) bottle of Chermette's 2010 "Les Griottes," a bottling I couldn't recall having seen in the States. Opened tonight with roast chicken, it proved to be fresh, lively, light and finish a tad short. It wasn't until I'd satisfied my curiosity with a bit of Google-fu that I realized that what we'd consumed was Chermette's Primeur bottling. The fact that I wasn't instantly struck by this fact is a testament to the "seriousness" of this wine. Bravo!
