Ferrari Perle Brut '01 -- Pale yellow, light reticent bouquet, simplistic style, smooth and quaffable, light acidity, ample but elusive fruit, some nuttiness. [VG]

Suavia Soave Classico Superiore '07 -- Light yellow, lemony/citrusy scents, ripe pears, nutty tones, fresh and appealing in a soft style, medium complexity, classic Soave, food friendly. [VG]

Jermann Vinnaioli Vintage Tunina '07 -- Golden yellow, faint bouquet, citrus and tropical fruits, clean style, very true to the 5 varietals, good balance and weight, some richness. [VG - E]

Barone Ricasoli Chianti Classico Castello di Brolio '00 -- Dark red, complex fruit scents, also spice, cherries and dark fruits, medium tannins largely evolved, at or near peak. [VG - E]

Marchesi Mazzei Castello di Fonterutoli Siepi Toscana '00 -- Dark purple red, lots of red fruits, robust style, blackberries, excellent structure and power, broodingly elegant, impressive. [E]

Coppo Brachetto d'Acqui '07 -- Medium orange red, delightful Sauterne-like scents, black cherry fruits, some spritziness, cloves, noticeable acid that is well buffered, lightweight style, nice pairing with chocolate. [VG - E]
