Aleksandr, Very astute inquiry!

I cannot imagine why there are some lukewarm reviews of this bottling on the internet.

This Engel Clos Vougeot was absolutely singing! On this occasion, it hit "best" in every category...best wine of the evening (and this is saying something), best Clos Vougeot ever, best 2003 Burgundy ever.

The bouquet was surprisingly intense and wonderful, immediately setting the stage for total enjoyment. All the right elements in fine balance. No edges. Impressive vitality and flavors. On and on!

I'm not usually effusive, but all four bottles of this wine rang everyone's chimes on this occasion.

Engel before and during this time period was really on his game. So sad that he was soon to die...a great loss!

Joe, I don't know what this ejaculation is regarding.

IF, it is regarding the amount of food served, the photos were taken before the servings were apportioned to multiple people.

Inasmuch as I didn't eat any of the uncooked dishes, I left feeling comfortable, if less than full. Amusingly, one person told me the next day that he stopped by and got a hamburger on the way home!?!
