Clos de l'Oratoire '08

I had this the other night and was well impressed.

Clos de l'Oratoire Saint-Emilion '08 -- Medium dark red, complex dark fruits, black cherries/berries, hints of tobacco, nicely composed on the palate, medium tannins that are buffered by berry fruits, excellent texture, moderate dimensions, drinks well now and will continue to develop. Recommended. [E]

I look forward to enjoying it again soon.

buffered by berry fruits

but not a recognizable berry, say like a grape?

Richard, It's been a few days so everything is to my best recollection.

Probably more like a blend of blueberries and blackberries was offsetting the tannins. But then again, it may have more like some more black cherries.

I couldn't resist pulling another bottle of this wine last night to pair with flattened pork chops, grains, and bok choy.

I can reaffirm my recommendation. Really a nice rendition of a blend mostly of Merlot with a little bit of Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. Fine now and over the long haul.
