In a recent thread I opined that the '84 Rubicon was "Bordeau-like"... to test this
1988 Chateau Canon, 1er Grand Cru Classe Saint Emilion Grand Cru, alc 12.5%
Minimal browning at the edges..slightly sour mineral nose..some graphite and subdued fruit with still quite a bit of tannins...very smooth soft texture but the finish is foreshortened.. good but not in full balance or harmony..
BUT, it did share some of the minerality with the Rubicon and some general similarities
