Restaurant recommendations for Paris

Can anyone please recommend a spot, or 2 or 3, lunch or dinner, for Paris around the holidays?

Near the 5e and up to 100 Euro per person? Cheap is certainly fine too - I've got family going for the first time and unfortunately it's been much too long since I've been for me to be of any help.

Thanks in advance.

I'm told that one can get into Le Comptoir for lunch if you get there by 11:45 and wait as they only take reservations for dinner. Dinner reservations are hard to come by.

I'll be testing this theory on Friday assuming I make it to LaGuardia.

I had no problem getting in for lunch, a couple of years ago.

In the 5e we had a really nice meal at Les Papilles. Small place, you will need to make a reservation. They serve a set meal, family style. Starts with a large tureen of soup, then a main, desert and then cheese/fruit. The food was very good, and very reasonable, IIRC around $30 euros a person. It is a wine shop so there a large selection of bottles. The owner is from the Southwest, so his focus is on wines from the area, but he has other selections too. We found an older Overnoy there. Good place for a family outing.

Also near by I liked Les Caves du Pantheon, a small wine shop with a great disorderly selection. Friendly and helpful staff. 174 Rue Saint-Jacques.
Just wine, not a cafe.

I should have mentioned I used the search function before posting. Just wondering if anyone had something to add, since the most recent list was from July. Thanks all.

I had one great meal there as well, in 2005 i think. Disappointing since then.

I'm not sure if it was mentioned in the other threads on the subject, but Le Severo in the 14th is a must go. That is if you like meat. And wine.

La cremerie in the 5th is still relevant. Les papilles not so much.

I am trying to remember which of these two places required that I speak French in order to get through the front door. It will come back to me.

But serves me right, yes.

most likely "la cremerie".

The owner isn't exactly the most pleasant person in the world.

you are correct, that's the one closer to Marché Saint-Germain.

Interesting selection though.

I would have thought Russian would have intimidated him enough.

They are more pissed off than intimidated these days. ever since we trashed Chamonix.
