WINES
Pierre Péters Blanc de Blancs Brut Cuvée de Réserve Le Mesnil Champagne NV -- Light yellow, citrus lemons, expressive bouquet, dough scents, well balanced, apples and other fruits, nicely focused, some yeastiness.
Kapcsandy Family Winery Napa Yountville State Lane Vineyard Rosé '09 -- Bright pink, light dark fruits, maybe slightly herbaceous (in a good way), lively/uplifting, medium complex, strawberries, layered profile.
Comte Philippe Senard Corton-Charlemagne '04 -- Medium yellow, lovely bouquet (if a bit light), crisp fruits, medium body, round profile, good intensity of fruits that are in balance, tasty minerality, hanging together nicely.
Chateau Pichon-Longueville Baron '90 -- Dark red, abundant black fruits, hints of vanilla, generous and expressive, medium tannins in abeyance, luscious, still quite dense, classic Claret features, elegant/polished/strong.
Jaboulet Hermitage La Chapelle '82 -- Medium dark red, complex aromas, leather, earth, lots of dark fruits, maybe bacon, violets, some floral notes, silky texture, exotic, still light tannins, so much going on with this beauty, at or just past peak.
Chateau Monbazillac '88 -- Golden yellow, surprisingly pungent bouquet, peaches and other fruits (pears and apples), still lively and fresh, sweet but not cloying, ample acid backing up the forward fruits, some nuttiness, a big hit.
