NWR: ISO Sauerkraut

Thank you. Small and local is better, in my book, but more than I'd hoped for. I'll try to score some on my next C'ville sojourn. Better yet, it looks like they sell here in town.

Cheers.

Silver Floss always works with me. It comes in plastic pouches usually close to the bacon section.

Thanks. Not the most appetizing name.

Got that right, but I grew up on the stuff and it (used to) come from south of Rochester(in Phelps, which had a sauerkraut festival to honor said product), so was local enough. There was also a brand called Cortland Valley with went away with the cabbage fields here too.

Yeah, the local paper would always feature the Sauerkraut Queen. But Silver Floss has moved off to Michigan, if I remember correctly.

You can still buy cabbages really cheaply from carts in the fields along 5&20 between Geneva and Canandaigua (the stretch south of Phelps).
