B. Mascarello 1996 Dolcetto - The fine print adds "Vigne Monrobiolo - Ruè - Giardino", presumably these are vineyards. Opened last night and, as expected, it was hard as nails. So I took a glass and put the cork back in. Not a pleasant glass, all tannins and metals, too mean even for seared beef.
Tonight, as expected, it was different. Dry, and still rather firm, but considerably lightened with bright cherry and maybe something like raspberry ade. This complemented frittata and olives and roasted red peppers.
