Billecart-Salmon Brut Rosé NV -- Salmon color, some yeastiness, apples and berries, solid bubbles, lively profile, quite refreshing but with substance, medium complex, reliably nothing not to like.
Domaine Leflaive Puligny-Montrachet Clavoillon 1er Cru '97 -- Medium yellow, citrus and ripe apples, light butteriness, generous dimensions, oak well in abeyance, some nuttiness, delicious and peaking.
Domaine Trapet Latricières-Chambertin Grand Cru '00 -- Medium red, effusive bouquet with spice, dark fruits, luscious scents, nice earthiness and balance, noble character, complex, holding well.
Schrader Cellars Vieux-Os Hell Hole Zinfandel '03 -- Dark almost inky red, blueberries and blackberries, tight and integrated, sweet nuance, high alcohol well buffered, surprisingly good given its (overly?) high octane style.
E. Guigal Hermitage Ex-Voto '01 -- Dark red, powerful bouquet, dark red fruits, potent spice, nice earth, solid core of fruit that buffers the tannins, some meatiness and herbaceousness, complex, fine now and down the road.
Chateau Cos d'Estournel St. Estèphe '96 -- Good red color, dry scents, light tobacco, earth, dark fruits, still dense, maybe some plums and blueberries, good complexity and balance, layered profile, holding well.
Chateau Montrose St. Estèphe '96 -- Deep red, effusive Claret nose, cedar, currants and black fruits plus maybe some plums, typically big but quite smooth and integrated, lots of personality, tannins in background, holding well.
Chateau d'Yquem '88 -- Dark gold, explosive aromas, deep citrus and tropical fruits, honey, nuttiness, dense/intense flavor profile, deeply complex, satisfyingly rich and unctuous, so luscious and delicious, bright and youthful.
