With spaghetti and meatballs
1995 Michele Satta Piastraia, Bolgheri Rosso, alc 13.5%, $32: Clearing of color at the edges..leaves/underbrush on the nose...very Bordeaux like on the palate with graphite/mineral, kirsh, cherry, currants, a bit of woodiness, etc...tannins are modestly present and build over time on the palate..I really couldn't pick this out as Italian but I do like it quite a bit...better with the food..probably will be better in 2-5 more years.
