2005 Vietti Dolcetto d'Alba Tre Vigne (Piedmont) Really refreshing wine. Lots of minty, herbal, red and dark fruits with zingy acidity. This goes down easily.
1996 Salvatore Molettieri Taurasi Cinque Querce (Campania) Last tasted two years ago, this was shut down hard with no aromatics at all. Now it opens with tons of dried roses, fennel, and black cherry. The mid-palate is showing lots of acidity and structure followed by some seriously tongue coating, fine grained chalky tannins. This is really enjoyable now and should evolve over the next 5-10yrs.
