Good piece on wine fraud by Levi

I thought he was spot on (and dismal) for all of it, with the possible exception of believing that he has sued all the main fakers already.

It's over for him. It's over for anybody who hasn't got $40MM to back-up their purchase rights. (IANAL but I bet the auction houses' caveats wouldn't hold up in court.)

If you believe there aren't any more fakers out there, I've got a case of 1945 Romanée-Conti for you, and another of 1923.

. . . And if you show enough enthusiasm, we can even arrange 1923 Roumier Bonnes-Mares and 1962 Ponsot Clos Saint-Denis.

As for other regions, name the quantities that you desire of of 1945 Pétrus and Mouton, 1947 Pétrus and Cheval Blanc, and 1961 Pétrus and La Chapelle, and our experts around the world will manage to locate cellars that can fill your demands.

"...no one can taste for authenticity." Amen. I remember from the Rodenstock scandal that Parker, Broadbent, and various other luminaries had made what now seem child-like assertions that because the wines tasted the way they expected them to taste, they must be real.
