With Scott Reiner:

Texier 2006 Cotes-du-Rhone "Brezeme" VV (Dom Pergaud) - modest acidity, beautiful blue fruit, somewhat muted, possibly just too cold?

Cameron 2011 Pinot Noir "Arley's Leap" - much more tart and bright, red-fruited, light and fresh, nice bottle

A few days later, I wanted to check-in:

Texier 2009 Cotes-du-Rhone "Brezeme" VV (Dom Pergaud) - snappy, meaty, pure, definitely more spring in its step

And a little later yet:

Clos Roches Blanches 2012 Touraine "L'Arpent Rouge" - typical pineau d'aunis flavors but with the purity, minerality, and crispness that we have come to know and love

And on 10/12:

Balagny 2011 Fleurie "Carioca" - a bretty mess, I'm getting tired of bad Beaujolais hygiene

Inman Family 2009 Pinot Noir "Thorn Ridge Ranch" - clean, aggressive, let's see what happens on Day 2; Day 2: what a difference! much more pleasurable, tannins have receded and a blackberry-ish flavor has come forward, Jim drinks three glasses of this (which is some kind of record)

And on 10/14:

Produttori del Barbaresco 2006 Barbaresco - bottle #9125+, fine furry tannins, medium-weight, pure and lively fruit that surprises me since the rest of the 'package' is kinda sober and sincere and foursquare; very happy with this bottle

And on 10/20:

Kramp 1989 Ayler Kupp Riesling Spatlese - still youthful and tart, just a little mellowing and rounding of flavors indicates any passage of time; simple at first, but the last glass (about 3 hours later) is more complex, mingling white cherry and underripe apricot with the initial white grape (and the acidity has come back into balance), nice

And on 10/21:

Dom. de l'Arlot 2006 Nuits-St-Georges 1er "Clos des Forets St. Georges" - Day 1: very perfumey and a bit aggressive, shows a bit of the 2006 plumpness; Day 2: retracts its claws a little and becomes a perfect purring kitty

And then:

Abbatucci 2012 "Rouge Frais" - pleasantly interesting

And finally:

Ch Fayau 2008 Cadillac - a gift from friends, hand-carried back, gently sweet, clean and correct, not world-beating but it goes well enough with savory food
