Sarasota?

Heading there for Thanksgiving, and have been placed in charge of wine. Know it's a long shot, but anybody know of any retail options to find something interesting?

Looks promising, but next refrigerated delivery to downtown Sarasota, where we'll be, is not until post-Thanksgiving unfortunately.

As I've mentioned before here, I've had good luck in the wine room at Morton's in Sarasota, finding such stuff as Huet Petillant and Foillard along with plenty of expensive and uninteresting wines.

Visited Mortons yesterday Mark. I asked about the wine room and we were taken to a huge walk in cooler room with an assortment of mostly boring wines. No Foillard, no Huet. But I did find a 96 Allemand Chaillot for under $40.00. they only had one bottle.

But that is a very nice find, no?
Best, Jim

If that's all I find, I'll take that walk anytime.

Coincidentally, I was at Morton's on Dec. 24 (I was the guy buying way too much food for my ailing in laws). I agree that there's mostly forgettable stuff for sale there, but I did pick up a '11 Breton Regnie, a Moncuit BdB and a Veuve Forny 1er Cru Vertus. Most of the interesting stuff there is KLWM imports it would seem. FWIW, the room I was in was right next to the flowers. Dunno if that's the same room you were in.

Mark, this was up on the 3rd floor.
It was a huge walk in cooler where they do store flowers.
they have a book downstairs of what is stored up there.
