Ack! My wine tastes like beer. Secondary fermentation?

I was looking forward to drinking a 2007 Staatlicher Hofkeller Wurzburg Franken Silvaner. The first Franker Silvaner I tried two years ago was a revelation. It introduced me to the idea of a layered finish, among other things. 2007 was a splendid vintage in Germany so I had great anticipation.
The one I tried two years ago was okay the first day but fantastic the second day. In looking for a repeat, I decided to pop the cork on my wine tonight and let it breathe. I popped the cork and tasted it. More like Budweiser than wine. It's a little too dark and the wine is almost syrupy.
Does this rink a bell with anyone? Could it be from some kind of secondary fermentation?

Dark and syrupy sounds more like a cooked wine to me. Was it spritzy at all?

Anyway sorry you got a bum bottle.

Best,
Kay

There were some bubbles that disappeared quickly. I couldn't tell if was from simply pouring the the wine or a problem with the wine.
I tasted it again this morning and the alcohol was more prominent.
