2002 Bereche Cotes des Blancs Cramant

Quite nice, but disappointing in the context of both the first two Bereche Champagnes I've tried as well and the 2002 vintage.

A bit harsh and oxidative on first opening, it smoothed and lightened and got younger with time in the glass.A pleasant lighter style of Champagne but doesn't manage the miraculously weightless heft of the NV "Les Beaux Regards" or the 2010 "Valle de la Marne Rive Gauche".

This is part of their new project Bereche Crus Selectionnes where they've found wines still sur latte, unreleased for one reason or another (retirement, etc.), that they feel deserved to be shared. I believe the 'Cotes' Cramant 2002 was disgorged after more than a decade with the lees.
