A surprise from Puzelat; don't age your Bandol (blanc)

Still in great shape with several years to go.
The nose is the most intriguing part of this wine. Dark fruits, leather and some charcoal. Maybe a streak of tobacco. Glenn compared it to a 1985 Saint Julien.
He and I differed on the palate. I thought the leather characteristic carried over to the texture. He thought there was more fruit. My feeling is this wine is well into its secondary phase of development. The tastes included black currant and maybe a little bit of cedar. Nice feeling from the attack to the mid-palate and through the long finish.
It was a little big for the Basque chicken but lighter than the typical California cabernet sauvignon.
The label says Tobias Musgrove special.

2005 Puzelat Romorantin - France, Vin de Table Français (2/1/2015)

I had low expectations for this wine after reading Keith Levenberg's note. I had a similar experience with a romorantin from about the same time. Not sure of the producer. I attributed the flaw to some sort of flawed fermentation (secondary or otherwise) and not to oxidation.
This turned out to be a decent wine. Not great. But I'm not sorry I bought it.
There was something just a little off about the wine. I can't quite put my finger on it. Dark gold in color. It was minerally but it was also like the acidity did quite finish normally. It was also slightly saline and I got a little bit of quinine. Slightly off dry. The finish was good.
I love romorantin but I wouldn't hold this up as a stellar example. But the wine was still moderately enjoyable. My expectations were much lower. A Lous/Dressner import.

2009 Domaine de Terrebrune (Bandol) Bandol Blanc - France, Provence, Bandol (2/1/2015)

I loved this wine but I think I should have had it two years ago. It's still holding up well but like Muscadet letting it age makes it rounder. I think I would have liked it better with a little more vibrancy. Aging doesn't add depth that I could tell.
It is just pure minerality. Very clean. Lots of white fruit, more peaches than applies, and slightly floral. Nice, elegant finish.
I had this with Super Bowl vegetarian pizza but I really wanted some seafood. A Kermit Lynch import.

2012 Harrington Pinot Noir Coast Grade Vineyard - USA, California, San Francisco Bay, Santa Cruz Mountains (2/1/2015)

A nice, balanced wine. Predominantly bright red fruit on the nose and palate. I also got some Russian River spices. I believe Glenn said he got cola as well. The palate had a slight herbal quality I didn't pick up on the nose. Good finish. Tasty stuff. Too bad it ended up being sold at Grocery Outlet for $8 a bottle, where Glenn found it. It deserves a better fate than that.

You are probably correct. I entered the wine on CellarTracker! when I bought it. It looks like it got changed later.

The distinction to be made, at least more recently, is between Puzelat-Bonhomme, a négociant line, and Clos de Tue Boeuf, made mostly from self-owned vineyards that Puzelat owns with his brother. The labels can be confusing, perhaps intentionally.
