Bourdain Got Geeky

I just stumbled upon a repeat episode of Bourdain's "The Layover" wherein he bops around Paris. I just watched him dining at Le Baratin and raving about the wines while also giving a shout-out to Le Verre Volé. Somebody's got to shut this guy down before he tells everyone.

Le Verré Vole

LE VERRE VOLE

67, rue de Lancry, 10th Arrondissement, tel. 01 48 03 17 34

Another pioneer in minimally interventionist, unfined, unfiltered, minimally sulphured wines is this small, artisinal place not far from the charming Canal St.-Martin. The wine selections are outstanding and the food consists of whatever proprietor and chef Cyril Bordarier finds on his daily excursions to the local marketplace. The emphasis is on fresh vegetables, daily caught fish, and the chef’s terrific line-up of sausages and charcuterie.

I asked the Le Verré Vole guys about this and they were almost positive that he had never been there before this article came out. Anyone could have written the above based on a quick google search.

Even the legendary pab has been spotted in the neighborhood at the slightly less well known Verre Volé sur mer a few doors down...
