Despite all expectations (Guigal, potentially over the hill, JLL two star rating, apparent use of new oak in vinification), I greatly enjoyed this last night. Somewhat flabby, reminded me of a somewhat diffuse ZH Gewurz or Pinot Gris. Tropical, smoky, nutty (in a totally non oxidative way), it went well with some peppery halibut and sauteed spinach.

Also made our bi-decadal viewing of La Femme Nikita even better.
