Box wines

This video of Rebelle and Pearl & Ash's Patrick Cappiello tasting box wines is quite amusing. And perhaps of interest for those with a predilection for boxes (cats take note).

Decent wine in a box (well, really a bag-in-box) is a market segment sadly lacking in this benighted. nation. My Froggy friends taunt me with tales of perfectly decent CdR and Cotes de Gascogne sold in b-I-b format. Since they exclude oxygen so well, you can store them for long times and you can sell your Coravin. Sweet!

yes. i think very fondly of the PUR b-I-b Beaujolais that SM sold in the summer of 2013; made for a great 3-day stay at Sea Ranch with friends. not enough formats (and wine) like that around.

Supposedly they need more SO2 to prevent the contents from refermenting and exploding in the vacuum, but I've also heard that this is not true. So there.
