2014 Huet Le Mont Sec

Got a taste of this yesterday evening, and I found it fascinating, if slightly harder to parse in the absence of its two partner vineyards-in-crime. It had a gorgeous, totally in-and-of-itself-of-what-it-is (that's the Latin) nose, and was aromatic and sprightly on the palate, only perhaps (slight criticism) shifting to a flat or pith note at the end.

But this is a (insert baseball metaphor).

Fascinating. Interesting word.

Over the weekend I drank 2014 Le Mont Demi-Sec and 2014 CdB Demi-Sec. For me, neither of them was fascinating.

The Le Mont was a bit simple and dare I say flat as well. It did not move me very much, although clearly one could do a lot worse than to drink this wine. The CdB was more compelling because of all that fine breeding. But still, not rocking and rolling.

I am looking forward to the CdB sec next weekend, but did not buy any of the Le Mont sec.
