The Antica Terra tasting was fascinating...surely one of the most interesting tastings I've encountered. Unfortunately, Maggie Harrison was away. Even so, a wide assortment of wines, Foie Gras Torchon, the Jamón Ibérico de Bellota, Farmhouses Cheeses, and wide-ranging commentary by Assistant Winemaker Andrew Riechers made for several hours of uncommon enjoyment. Not shown on the list, but the Antica Terra Botanica Pinot Noir, a limited release from both 2012 and 2013, was served and really struck my fancy...and caused a hit to my wallet.
The Ponzi facility is new and remarkable and worth visiting. They served us a really fine lunch. The Ponzi wines always seem to show well but perhaps fall a bit short of being compelling.
