So we were visiting Charvin to buy our 13 CdP and taste through the 14 and 15 wines (I won't bother telling you that they are all great; either you know that will be the case, or you don't need me to say it). A year or so ago, after PAB said nice things about the Charvin 03 CdP with wabbit, I demurred, and people teased me about killing the wabbit to have with it (that hare is still in our vineyard, but hasn't yet fallen over when I look mean at it). This came up when we were talking about his wines with Laurent and he went to open an 03, which he sent us home with (la vie est belle). PAB, you were right and I was wrong. We had the wine with my beef bourguinon, not wabbit, but it is wonderful right now. It shows a little older than one would think a 12 year old CdP would, but much younger than it seemed when I last tasted it 3-4 year ago. At this rate, like Benjamin Button, in 10 years, it will start to taste carbonated and hard to judge and then it will turn into grapes.
