Best southern Rhone I've ever had

2004 Fonsalette was just amazing yesterday. Warm, welcoming, lush but complex. Wonderful stuff.

The 2004 Rayas served next to it (I think my first Rayas?) was pretty dull in comparison. Maybe just needs time, maybe it's just Grenache.

Jay, interesting that you have selected a Cote du Rhone for that distinction.

I hope I get a chance to try it as I can't recall having done so before.

Fonsalette costs more than many CdPs. It is made by Rayas and isn't just any Cotes de Rhone.
