TN: Rombone vs Rombone and Santo Stefano

Still saving old TNs typed on my mobile phone:

At La Vigna, if memory serves, the idea being Wolfgang never quite seemed to believe me when I say that misstorage“ is a gradual thing, and that after all these years, I’ve come to the conclusion that I’d rather drink a pristine, i.e. perfectly stored bottle of a lesser wine rather than the other way round.

Fiorenzo Nada Barbaresco Rombone 1997
Thanks to Wolfgang. "Imported by Premium Brands Inc. Forest Hills" bottle. Wide orange rim, garnet center. A bit bland in direct comparison, little finesse, even though no doubt from above-average storage conditions, the difference is undeniable (long faces, except mine, no surprise here, sorry for rubbing it in). Very pretty even so. dp 89-

Fiorenzo Nada Barbaresco Rombone 1997
What I thought was my last bottle, until I recently found another not on the cellar list (more in-detail TN there). Ruby-red, fresh, youthful, complex, finesseful, longer. dp 91(-?)

Castello di Neive Barbaresco Santo Stefano 2010
Thanks to Oliver. Lighter color. Pretty, fairly expressive wine, medium body and length. dp 91-

Greetings from Switzerland, David.
