2000 Pepiere Clos des Briords Muscadet is so rich and complete. Wish I had a note from how it was on release to compare. Still showing some sulfite pinch in the nose but in the mouth it is luscious with marzipan and leesy richness up against an unrelenting wall of fruit. Vibrant acid cleans up and lingers on for ever. Wow. 94 pts.
Drunk a month ago but worth noting, 2012 Joseph Swan Zinfandel. Apologies as I have forgotten the vineyard name but again, wow. Among the most elegant zinfandels I've ever tasted with bright acids, bramble and graphite flavors and an earthy beauty that is impossible to describe yet impossible to forget. Almost Bordeaux in profile yet unmistakably zin. Cost like $35 but well worth it. What a treat. Thanks to Jonas at Chambers for the excellent recommendation. 94 pts.
