Tenuta Luisa Friulano (Tocai) DOC 2007- Straight out of bottle, very heady nose of gunpowder, sharp metallic aromas, and spicy pepper. Extremely peppery on the palate, with nice mouth watering acidity. With about 10 minutes of air, it softens nicely. Hints of pepper and a nice nuttiness emerge on the nose with hints of lemon zest. There is a very round feel to this wine and a nice velvety texture. Fairly simple on the palate: lemony with nice mineral notes and balanced acid. The only downfall is a slight presence of heat. The label reads 14%, but the alcohol is off-putting. I wonder if more time in bottle would help balance the alcohol...
