Not the biggest, but the best chosen . . . by a lot.

i got a firsthand look at Cru and it is indeed an excellent shop. they have a small outdoor patio where you eat lunch (and i assume dinner). the food was very good and you can even open wine you buy in the store for a $12 corkage fee (which we weren't charged)
highly recommended if you are in Tampa.

Yes, CSW, but they won't ship spirits out of state any longer, so I might drive to DC sometime to get a few things.

Also, I have been buying 2015 Falkenstein wines at Southern Season in Chapel Hill. The store is too warm so I tend not to buy older vintages (they have some German and Austrian wines that have probably been on the shelves for a few too many years).

The Caviste in Winston-Salem has been suggested. I have not been there, but I will check it out on my way to Asheville in March.
 
Oh wow, 2015 Falkenstein. I bought a bunch from CSW but didn't realize they were at Southern Season. I got burned (literally) with a couple bottles of slightly older vintage wine from them and decided Never Again!

Yes, Caviste does seem promising but haven't gotten around to it.

Yeah, SS has some 2013 Pepiere Clisson on the upper shelves, but given how hot it is I thought it better to pass.

I'll post something about The Caviste when I get there.
