1998 Antonelli Sagrantino di Montefalco, DOCG, alc 14%, $40: The color is starting to brown a little at the edges...the nose is tarry...the palate starts out well but tannins quickly close in and shut it down...my mouth is totally dry within a few seconds...like tasting alum...still too young to give full enjoyment...I'm not sure if there is enough fruit/acidity/structure to outlast the tannins in this particular wine...

I know that Sagrantino takes a while to "come around" but I thought that 10 yrs was "enough"... wrong again.

I corked up the leftovers and will revisit in a few days.
