The 2015 Laurent Saillard Vin de France POP is pet nat from a blend of Cabernet Franc and Pineau d'Aunis, and the character of the latter is clear despite my understanding that it is a minor part of the blend. A crisp and refreshing combination of watermelon Jolly Rancher and the distinctive Pineau d'Aunis celery seed and white pepper, it works surprisingly well with a grilled porterhouse. The light effervescence and just a touch of sweetness makes it really easy to drink (that and I'm a sucker for Pineau d'Aunis). Nice.
