I'm stuck in Toronto with their idiotic wine sales deal and I went to the liquor store - '16 Laroche St. Martin, not identifiably Chablis, or French, or anything really, other than shit.

Where's the Molson Canadian?

And how about that no hitter last night...here I am and my home team does that in the town I'm visiting, I watch a couple innings on the TV at the Irish pub, and don't even know a big deal is underway.

There's cool stuff in Ontario now thanks to LCBO's consignment program, which allows private agents to warehouse and distribute products under the government umbrella (a model first started in Quebec). Consumers need to know which agents to go to for the wines they want, and the minimum order is a case, which means that unless you're a motivated drinker you're most likely going to see them on restaurant lists.

[When I was there last month I had a bottle of Dupasquier mondeuse that had the importer's sticker on the back - Connell House Wine Merchants. Coincidence?]

To that end, get thee to Midfield, Archive 909, or Paris Paris - they will rectify your current predicament. Giuseppe at Midfield speaks fluent disorderly. Bar Isabel and Grey Gardens also have wide-ranging lists and good food.

Ooooh, thanks!

I was at the Grey Gardens front door last night but just wasn't in the mood, and went and had a burger and beer instead (in fact, Molson Canadian).
