I write in response to your correspondence regarding A. 10737.
I am not a sponsor of this legislation. Several reports have been compiled that a “Primary Source Law” such as this, will decrease the potential for lost revenues to our state wine sales, and will be able to assure the purity and integrity of the wine product that is sold. It is important to protect the wine consumer’s choices, as well as, continuing protections for the public’s health and safety. The primary sponsor of this bill is Assembly Member Carrie Woerner (woernerc@nyassemlby.gov) I have included her email address should you wish to express your concerns to her. Be assured that should this bill come before the Assembly for a vote during the final days of this year’s session I will keep your views in mind.
Please do not hesitate to contact me again on matters of concern.
