Wine Sales

I spent about a week on the floor of our store during Xmas. Expensive wines $40+ have slowed substantially. Expensive single malt scotchs, designer Tequilas, special cognacs, etc, sales dropped also. We've been offered wines that have been on allocation in larger amounts. Think restaurants turning them down.
Restaurant business here in the valley has slowed. I think the upcoming year is going to be worse. I hope I'm wrong, but I doubt it.

Are you going to start offering big sales?

40 per cent off is the new black.

Although it seems not so much in the liquor business yet? (or at least I haven't noticed a decline in Cragganmmore prices)

I have three boxes of wine and no place to put them. If there's huge sales coming, I'll have to rent more storage space at my wine locker.

Oh, I won't suggest the obvious. It's probably too inconvenient anyway.

Try 12-15 cases with no place to put them. I may have to have Dougherty hold them.

I still have 7-8 cases at a friends cave in Divonne. Maybe I'll send them to Sharon for experimentation.

Thanks Joe, it's perfectly correct for a New Yorker to think that but us Napans are too shy to say anything.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Lou what store is that? Has your internet sales slowed down by the same amount?
Ruben I will never allow the denizens of this board to accuse me of having a conflict of interest. The store is in Manhattan Beach CA. Oh by the way, Rahsaan bought all the cheap sh--. I had been saving it all for Chris C. but he's buying the good stuff now that he's moved into a higher financial bracket. In fact Chris is the only citizen in the world who has moved up fiscally in the last couple of months.
OK board members remember who is capable of making loans at the present time. Fuck--- banks took the money and ran.

You can write fuck and shit here Lou.

How dare you post about wine if you are ITB?!?!? I mean everyone knows that people ITB are getting rich ripping off the poor doctors, lawyers, investment bankers, and trustfunders and practically stealing their hard earned money with those insane margins.

I got a raise too, but my job is in no way tied to anything financial, at least not yet.

I've been around this board for many years and I do understand the rules that apply. Being a Napan there are two things we try to do in this life, one is inexpensive prices on all wines vinified in the valley and proper language at all times. Barbarians and New Yorkers need not apply for residence in our paradise.

No wait . . .
