CWI: Desvignes Jasvernieres 2007

CWI: Desvignes Jasvernieres 2007Anybody had a bottle recently? How was it?

Thinking of gifting a bottle, and want it to be a bottle that readyish.

I had the 2005 recently and it was ready. Maybe even getting to the other side for me. I imagine the 2007 is in the zone for those who want some tertiary flavors.

The 2005 ready? Call me surprised.

But then, maybe it's VLM-ready :-). Highly improbable that it's BJ-ready.

I'll pack it up, tho. Thanks for the input.

Well, I worry that the 2005 tannins will outlast any fruit and overbear any bottle sweetness.

I also find that when things start getting tertiary wines tend to converge.

I'd be interested in what BJ thinks of 2005 Coudert Tardive and this Desvignes at the moment.

Whether I think '05 Javernieres is ready or not is irrelevant. That I don't think it's VLM-ready is somewhat curious. Perhaps I need to open another bottle (of the 1st bottling). Early October may be good season for that.

Gifting the '07? I really like the wine, but it's "cerebral." And it freshens and fills out with air. Be careful if you are trying to gift something user-friendly.
