86 Taluau VV

You can tell I drink a lot of these because they are cheap for what they are.

God I love these. Sort of a poor man's old Rougeard base cuvee (whatever that's called, Nathan will know). Limpid, clear, powerful smoky red curranty tomato leafy regular leafy old fallen Fall leafy acid thrusty leathery textury velvety glove in iron fist sort of thing that I really really like. 49.5 second finish too.

KL peeps! Worth a few. Down to the 93 and 96. Ex domaine and excellent provenance, unlike the 2nd round of Druets which are dreadful except the mags.

Base Rougeard is called Clos.

If KL shipped to NYC, I’d be curious to compare the library release Taluau to the couple bottles of ‘96 VV left in my cellar.

Re: Druet what’s the issue there? When was the second round to be wary of?

Looks like they've still got the '89 as well. I'd expect that to be pretty great, but I've never had anything before the '96 myself. Which was still pretty tight 3-4 years ago when I tried a bottle.
