...offer received in a mailing, at $250/bottle. Is it really that good, as in equal or better than most producers' 1re and grand crus? Rhetorical question, given my taste and budget, but I'm skeptical and curious.
 
As good as Coche-Dury is, that pricing is W-A-Y beyond anything rational. It would be nice if somehow we can know whether or not it proves to be generally saleable.

It checks a box when only Coche will do. I'm in it for the grams, bruh!
 
Yah, some wines (and other things) penetrate the crust of rationality that many of us hover in the vicinity of, and soar into a kind of stratosphere of pure prestige purchasing. It's fun to watch the fiery trail these products leave as they achieve escape velocity, and enticing to speculate about realm of alien norms and mores they are exploring.
