90 Belle CH Louis Belle

Even I was expecting this to be OTH, but it was nothing of the sort. Totally classic hillside northern Crozes, meat and game, delicious on a cold winter's day outside with the Mme planting a rose and some hellebores, with a bit of dry sausage. Finished with some range beef stew watching The Crown as a little windy front moved through. A delight.

Why was she planting a rose and some hellebores with a bit of dry sausage? Is that like the old Native American trick of putting a fish head in the ground with the seed?

We’ve enjoyed many Belle C-H’s, especially the Cuvée Louis Belle, over the years. Along with Graillot and Jaboulet, they are the only C-H’s we’ve bought.

Rousset Crozes-Hermitage Les Picaudières is worth looking for.
BJ turned me on to this one too.

We drank Albariño (2018 Zarate Rías Baixas Balado fabulous) and grilled king salmon and pretended it was summer here. Syrah sounds pretty good though.

Good to hear about the Zarate. I just picked up a couple of bottles (and still have 1-2,of the ‘17).

Golly that's embarrassing.

I went back and looked at the bottle. It was the basic Zarate Albariño, younger vine version and not the Balado. Still it was very good and a super value for $20. Fefinanes level good. Would be killer with shellfish but tasted fine with the rich king salmon.

Golly that's embarrassing x2.

Just saw this headline on The Daily Yahoo, culled from ABC News:

'Very disturbing' video shows Chicago police slamming man who allegedly spit at officer to the ground.

That must break some saliva production record.
