Hello,

Visiting the in-laws in Palm Beach Gardens and Sarasota and wondered if anyone had any come across decent wine stores in either place?

Morton's in Sarasota has a decent selection of wines. It's a grocery store/deli (good food). There's display with forgettable wines in the main entrance but there's also a wine room off to the side that's a pretty reliable source of some decent wines (Huet, some grower Champagnes, etc.). Storage is OK, too. Whole PaycheckFoods also usually has a few decent things on offer. I've scored some Renardat-Fache Bugey in past years there.

After the demise of the Sarasota wine warehouse I usually go to The Wine To Buy on Gulf Gate Drive. They usually have at least a few drinkable items and the prices are very OK.

I haven't been but Seagrape Wine Company (in Sarasota) is owned/run by Thomas Morgan, who was the southeast sales rep for Kermit Lynch. Great guy and I'd expect a well thought out selection from him.

Thanks! Will be sure to go to Seagrape, Morton’s, and Wine to Buy when we get to Sarasota. Any recommendations for around Palm Beach Gardens, where we are now?

Thank you, that sounds great, never noticed before and never popped up when searching online. Is the store relatively new?

That's a great name for a store.

It'd playful, and appropriate from the Land of Flipper.

Oh, it makes me think of this. (Sorry about the cutesy preso, it was all I could find.) Short form here.

Seagrape Wine Co is great. it is now my go to wine store while in that part of Florida.
They have a drink on premise license which allows you to purchase a wine ( they provide decent stems) and sit down and drink it on the spot. On Friday nights, they sometimes have food truck. this Friday 1/31 it the Spice Boys Kitchen truck (Israeli food)

Seagrape is indeed great. Picked up delicious bottles of 2016 Jean-Paul Thévenet Morgon and 2017 Laurent Tribut Chablis there.

Suzanne, Thomas Morgan mentioned you when I said I'd found the store via Wine Disorder.

it is my local place when in Florida. I have known Thomas since 2005. Thanks for stopping by. BTW in December Antonio Galloni stopped in to the store. He was surprised to be recognized. Jim (just a helper there) said "it's like working in a bookstore and Shakespeare happens to stop by".
