Mark, the Domaine Dujac Clos de la Roche Grand Cru '06 was a beautiful example of what grand cru Burgundy can (should) be. Solid color, sweet aromas of berries complemented with attractive earthiness/spice/etc./etc., impressive volume of fruit, good density/structure/roundness, full and large profile, excellent alone and with food. Drinking fine now but will only get better as it mellows out in the years ahead. [E]
I debated whether to mention oak in the note, but it was well integrated and not intrusive in this bottling. The wine was thoroughly enjoyable with the beef and cheese courses and then by itself as well.
