Botrytis Burgundy -- really!

Peter Creasey

Domaine de la Bongran Macon-Villages Cuvée Botrytis '06 -- a new one on me; in fact, I can't recall ever having a botrytis Burgundy before. A delicious, pungent bouquet, good core of acid and fruit on palate, not cloying at all, nice length that stays full, quite a delight. [A-]

Paired superbly with Tarte Bourdaloue, Glace au Calvados, miel au fleurs d'orange et fleurs sauvages, sauce au caramel.

. . . . . Pete

So you don't read threads other than your own on this bored? Old news and an old favorite for Disorderlies.

In the thread currently below this one, VLM opines that the Cuvée E. J. Thevenet is a perfect match with soft ripened cheese.

Did you say Tarte Babalu?

Good one, Pete.

Please correct me if I mis-tasted something in my careless youth, but aren't some of the greatest examples from Henri Goyard and his worthy successor happily infused with a touch of botrytis?

My parents moved me out of the USSR so that I wouldn't have to quote the official sources in my literature papers, else receive bad grades.

You do know the politburo thing is a joke, right? Or is it. :-)

So in this scenario, VLM is our Lenin? I guess Vulgar Little was always misdirection...

Yeah but in case of Goyard it was a good thing :-)

Actually, do you mean 2004 or 2001? Or perhaps both.

I am thinking of 2004. And in Dauvissat definitely a good thing.
