Who assumes the risk of corked bottles?

I have never read a thread full of so much ignorant bullshit on this site. Bottles that have TCA are the exclusive responsibility of the producer. That is where it happens. The distribution chain has nothing to do with it. If you get a corked bottle, you bring it back to the place you bought it...

Donati Camillo Fortana dell'Emilia IGT 2007

The fuck it does! It doesn't really pass muster as wine, but it is a damn sight better than beer. View this self-promotional link at your peril.

Expect some new faces- The Parker/Squire's Board goes subscription only

At eBob, I would be poised to post, and then I'd think to myself "Dave, you don't have a law degree. If you post here about your secret desire for Brandi Jocelyn Pack, you'll be the Robbie Feaver of the wine world." I couldn't live with that, now could I?

    Silly Contentious Crap

Hey, don't be dissing silly contentious crap. Without it, I'd have to read the news.

    Antipodean rieslings

I can't say that it was intentional, but the advent of "threaded closures" (in the 21st Century there is a euphemism for everything) seems to have greatly increased the sales of aerators. We use them all the time now, especially for screwcapped high-end Gruners and Rieslings. It's a brave new...

Today's enlightening Washington Post wine column

"There's a Gallic defiance of the European Union's standardization of regulations, which is seen as undermining France's strict defense of tradition and quality as the homeland of fine wine." Gee...is that why Le Telquel is Vin de Table?

    NWR - True New Yorkers

I grew up in Nassau County. I would never, ever, confuse Flushing with Mineola.

    Conterno Monfortino with Treme?

    Yes.

    Joe Dressner is right!

"How can you govern a country which has 246 varieties of cheese?" One of you smartasses can give the original French. I biked, at a very lackadaisical pace, from Dijon to Beaune with a wheel of Epoisses in my travel bag. After Day Three, it had to sit on the windowsill of my hotel room. It...

What do people drink with sushi?

Champagne, Yes. Or one of the simpler Gruner Veltliners (Anton Bauer "Gmork" tastes of lemon, lime, and green apple, and it seems to work well with a nice buttery hunk of toro). I'm fantasizing about the "hunk" of course...it's doled out in wan little slices down here in Appalachia.

    Awful song.

    NWR - True New Yorkers

I think it was waiting until 2:30 a.m. for John Cale's set to start at the Mudd Club that finally convinced me that I lacked the necessary stamina for the Manhattan club life schedule. (Yeah, that's how old I really am.)

    2005 Scholium Project Babylon

The older I get, the less patience I have for eccentrics passing off lab experiments as wine.
