I'm not too familiar with the bill, but considering the high HR number, I don't think this thing is going to see daylight this year.
But, you never know. Even if this bill never gets out of committee, the language can get attached to some gigantic appropriations bill, and it might slip right by everybody's notice. I don't know how powerful the direct sale lobby is in DC to push back against this.
I'm not sure. There probably is, but the question is the size. So, it might be a couple of hired lobbyists, or maybe a huge organization like the Wholesalers Association.
I guessing because most direct sales businesses seem to be Napa wineries and small retailers, the lobby, if there is one, is quite small. But, I don't know the trade that well, so I could be wrong.
