Montreal has a pretty great food and wine scene. One of the neat aspects is that there are a number of excellent wines that I haven't seen in the US but do see in France: Karim Vionnet's Beaujolais and Cyril Fahl's Ctes Catalanes (Clos du Rouge Gorge), for example.

Does anyone know if this is also the case with the Frapatto? The SP68 that arrived in Montreal in August/September is L0109 and the Frapatto that arrived at the same time is LF0109.

Just to second what Putnam said: I spent a LOT of time in the Lutz in the mid 90s and heard the Dennis Hopper line from Blue Velvet more than a few times. David Lynch was big, especially among the Reed students, and PBR was cheap. That said, it's hard to believe the Lutz was really as important...
Fillay: That makes sense that NAFTA would prevent duties on US wines that dont apply to Canadian wines, but Im pretty sure the LCBO still prices Ontario wines more aggressively. Maybe theres just less of a retail markup on the Canadian/Ontario wines?

Without wading into the question of subsidies, I'll just point out that Canadian and especially Ontario wines receive preferential pricing (lower taxes) from the state-owned alcohol monopoly in Ontario and I believe in a number of other provinces as well.
