    Arnot-Roberts

None of the cabs I've tasted were much over 12%, if at all, but I believe it was the Fellom Ranch (Santa Cruz Mtns.) that was sub-12.

I've had all of the current releases. I wish I could afford to have them on the list - They're good. I'm actually doing an event with them on Sunday & am looking forward to making all of my friends taste those wines. 11.5% alcohol, whole cluster cab? Word.

I love his wines. And what a nice guy.

    Summer Lovin'!

Lemasson is a G. I'm still unclear as to what chenin & gamay are, but i'll keep reading. I'm told they're strange?

Exciting Bay Area Real Wine Events

Looking very much forward to that day, and not at all to the one following.

Golden oldies, inc. 1925 Rioja, 1961 QdC, 1975 TBA

One of the most eye-opening lunches I've been to highlighted CVNE & Contino, with a vertical going back to that 1937 accidental dessert wine. The wines from the 50's drank fresh as the 80's.

Always my issue with old Spanish wines - They show so young that I can't help but suspect them. At this point, I know that they can't possibly have all been fraudulent (I used to run a nearly all Spanish program, years ago), but the suspicion lingers.

    Poulsard

These wines vary pretty wildly from bottle to bottle. The '06's were showing like hell for a good while, and then poof - some good to damn near perfect bottles. That's Poulsard "M".

    Poulsard

Neal says he's making around 50,000 bottles annually - not chump change, but actually less than I'd heard previously.

    Poulsard

A recent bottle of Puffeney Poulsard "M" was downright scintillating, sans-food. Aromatically & texturally that thing was amazing. Damn near perfect, if there is such a thing as a "perfect" wine. Does it blow anyone else's mind that Puffeney makes as much wine as he does?

Ros time again...Spring is almost here

Julien Fouet's Saumur (all cab franc) rose '08 is a real panty-dropper at the moment. Pale pink, right, and cheap. Everything I look for.
